My name is Kim, and my art is a direct response to the world around me. Living and creating in Flint, Michigan, I am deeply aware of the hardships and heavy hearts that exist within my community. My work is driven by a personal motto: I live in a city with some of the darkest souls. I create art to add some light in a very dark place. Guided by an innate desire to care for others, I pour intense passion into every piece, viewing creation as an act of empathy. I express this vision through two distinct mediums: traditional painting on canvas and the intricate, elemental process of pyrography.

Woodburning allows me to find beauty and warmth within raw materials, while my paintings offer a vibrant counterweight to the surrounding gloom. By bringing these tactile textures and vivid colors together, I aim to create visual sanctuaries that offer hope, spark resilience, and introduce much-needed brightness into the world.
